Dear Shellcrest Families,

We’re thrilled to kick off another exciting summer with the Shellcrest Killer Whales!  Below are the important updates and reminders for this week and the season ahead. We will send out a Sunday Splash Email Sunday Evenings with updates, if there is something more time sensitive we will send out as needed.

Practice Begins This Tuesday, May 27!

We officially dive into the season starting Tuesday, May 27, with afternoon practices offered Tuesday through Thursday each week.

You may choose one of two practice times daily:

  • 4:15 – 5:00 PM

  • 5:00 – 5:45 PM

 For Our Youngest Swimmers (6U & 8U)

We recommend that our youngest Shellcrest swimmers wait to begin practices until morning sessions start on June 9. Evening temps and colder water can be tough on our littlest athletes and those bright blue lips break my heart! We’ve found they do best when it’s just the littlest bit warmer and helps to create a love for summer swim team.

6U and New to Swim Team? Please Read!

If your swimmer is new to swim team AND 6U, we ask that you please wait to begin until morning practices start. The NBSL has implemented a new process this year, and we will be conducting evaluations during morning practice to determine the best placement and support for our youngest swimmers.

Please see the attached document for a full explanation of our new process.

 Meet the Coaches

We’re excited to welcome our amazing coaching staff this year:

  • Head Coach: Elizabeth Maher

  • Assistant Coaches: Maggie Kirchner & Gus Fowler

They’re ready to lead our swimmers to a fun and successful season!

 Morning Practices Start June 9

Morning practice times (Monday–Friday) will be as follows:

  • 8:15 – 9:15 AM: 18U, 14U, 12U

  • 9:15 – 10:15 AM: 10U, 8U

  • 10:15 – 10:45 AM: 6U

Still in School After June 9?

We understand that some swimmers may still be in school when morning practices begin. We are exploring the option of adding one or two evening practices that week.

If your swimmer would be available for an evening practice from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, please let us know by emailing:
